Putin hopes Russia’s relations with US to normalize
MOSCOW, Jun 30 (PRIME) -- President Vladimir Putin hopes that the relations between Russia and the U.S. will normalize, he said during a Q&A session on Wednesday.
“I hope strongly that (the U.S.) will finally realize that the world has been changing. And the changing world will bring new interpretation of own priorities and interests, and will reestablish the entire world order in a more pleasant manner, including normalization of our relations with the U.S.,” he said.
The U.S. partners understand that the world has been changing, but still try to keep the monopoly, which leads to their threats to Russia and “further destructive behavior,” Putin added.
The president also said that Russia has adapted to sanctions, which encouraged development of the agricultural sector and the financial system.
“Our economy has not just adapted itself to the sanctions pressure, but has even taken advantage of it. All those so-called substitution programs, replacement of imported equipment, our own technologies. It created a good impetus for high-tech production, and really encouraged the sector, let alone the agricultural industry, which made such a leap that we could not have imagined in the previous years,” he said.
